Alexander Calder is widely considered one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th century. His abstract creations and innovative mobiles have captured the imagination of millions, displayed in the finest museums around the world (MOMA, the Georges Pompidou Center, and the National Gallery of Art to name a few). But who was the man behind the kinetics? Only his friends know for sure. On Sunday, June 10th, join award-winning art critic Jed Perl, author of Calder: The Conquest of Time (the first full-length biography of the artist ever written), for a conversation with Stanley Cohen, president of the Scone Foundation, as they share personal stories of friendship with a true American genius.
