July 13: Ginnie Gardiner at Casana Designs
Friday, July 13, 2018
Space is limited!
Casana Designs is very pleased to announce an exhibition of recent paintings by New York artist Ginnie Gardiner that explores the interaction of pattern and design with the human form. This focused selection is inspired by several of the motifs and designs of Casana founder Carrie Chen.
Ginnie Gardiner’s distinctive style of color notes of optically mixed oil paints produces shimmering, figurative abstractly coherent works. Gardiner cites the American Modernists and 2nd generation New York School Artists and specifically Alex Katz, Louisa Matthiasdottir and Lois Dodd, with their reductive treatment of form and clarity of light, as influences.
Ginnie Gardiner is a New York artist who has shown in numerous solo and group exhibits for 30 years. In 2005 she and her husband Jon Phillips moved upstate to Catskill, New York, where they purchased, renovated and restored the Catskill Lyceum, a Federal era building located in the historic Village of Catskill.
